Moving Meditation and Positive Energy

禪修是我的良藥:移動我的能量 · Meditation is My Medicine

本週重點

Overview

Use stronger feeling words — wonderful and excellent — instead of plain “good.” Pair words with movement: heart, mind, energy. Build the pattern “My ___ felt wonderful/excellent.” and say “I am shaping my energy.”

🪷 Spiritual Goal

佛學/心靈目標

Understand meditation as medicine — an active way to heal the mind. Learn moving meditation through Tai-Chi-style gestures, and take responsibility for your own peace (self-reliance · 自依止).

句型 Sentence Patterns

Key Patterns
Pattern 1 · Describing a feeling with stronger words
My ___ felt wonderful / excellent.

My mind felt excellent after school today.

My energy was wonderful when I helped my mom.

My heart felt wonderful after I meditated.

Pattern 2 · Moving your energy
I am shaping my energy.

I am shaping my energy with my hands.

I move slowly, like Tai Chi, to feel calm.

Pattern 3 · Taking responsibility
I am responsible for my ___.

I am responsible for my peace.

I will meditate, because it is my medicine.

✏️ Grammar Focus · “Good,” “better,” and richer words

Instead of always saying good, choose a stronger word. Excellent = super good. Wonderful = full of wonder and joy. Use them after the verb felt or was: My mind felt excellent. · My energy was wonderful. Rich words help you share exactly how you feel.

故事 The Story

Story

Imagine your mind is like a glass of muddy water (混濁的水). When you shake it, you cannot see through it — that is a busy, worried mind. But if you hold it still, or move it very slowly, the mud settles to the bottom and the water becomes clear again.

This week we practice moving meditation. Like gentle Tai Chi (太極), we put a hand on the heart, a hand on the mind (the head), and we draw slow circles around our body to feel the energy. We are not just sitting — we are shaping our energy with our hands, and shaping a little more peace in the room.

Best of all, this medicine belongs to you. No one else can make your heart calm — that is your own responsibility. When you choose to breathe, to move slowly, and to say “I am responsible for my peace,” you become your own gentle doctor.

🤔 Check your understanding

  • Why is meditation like medicine? 為什麼禪修像藥?
  • How can you “move” your energy like Tai Chi? 你怎麼像太極一樣「移動」能量?
  • Who is responsible for your peace? 誰要為你的平靜負責?

佛法小品 The Principle

Principle

When your body is sick, you take medicine. Teacher Dom reminds us that when the mind feels “foggy” or “crazy,” we have our own medicine too — meditation. And meditation does not have to be still: we can move our energy.

🌟 You shape your own energy 你形塑自己的能量

In Buddhism this is called self-reliance (自依止): peace and awakening are cultivated by your own practice, not handed to you by someone else. Your inner state is not trapped inside you — it radiates outward and changes the room around you. So when you shape calm, positive energy with slow, mindful movement, you give a gift of peace to everyone near you.
